Nathrezim, also called Dreadlords, are vampiric demons.[1]

Background

It is stated that life, just as in the Great Dark Beyond, had also arisen in the Twisting Nether. The creatures that emerged from this realm were known as demons. They had been formed as a result of the Light and Void energies that had bled together at the Twisting Nether's borders. Embracing their furious passions, the demons reveled in pushing their boundaries of their power, heedless of the consequences. Many of these abberations indulged in the highly volatile energy that pervaded the Nether and some even learned to wield the all-consuming powers of fel magic[2]—the ways of the warlock.[3]

Among the great demons were the nathrezim, otherwise known as dreadlords. Cunning and manipulative, they dedicated their existence to mastering the arts of shadow magic.[2] Incredibly powerful demons, dreadlords wield the power of darkness and mental domination. The Dreadlord marks the pinnacle of his dark powers with the devastating ability to summon a fiery infernal through the warlocks' Inferno spell. Stunning and wounding nearby enemy forces when it crashes to the earth, the infernal will streak down from the sky at the dreadlords' call. The infernal, engulfed in searing flame, will then rise to do the dreadlord's bidding.[4]

The nathrezim relished infiltrating mortal civilizations, sowing unrest, and turning nation against nation. As these societies devolved and crumble from within, the nathrezim would corrupt their populations, twisting innocents into new and horrific breeds of demon.[2]

Physical Description

The Dreadlords' possess vampiric traits: Huge, dark, curled horns thrust high from their heads. They had dead, gray skin like a corpse, and no hair whatsoever on their monstrous heads. In addition, they had two sharp canines that jutted down.[5]
